Gajar Halwa Baklava

I got creative this weekend and combined the two divine desserts. Here is the recipe:

You will need:
Some gajar halwa- In my world, everyone knows how to make it. So, no recipe here.

For the Baklava:

Phyllo Sheets- 1 pack
Butter- 1/2 a stick
Sugar- 1 cup
Honey- 1 cup
Cardamom- 5
Saffron- A few strands
Water- 2 cups
Rose Water- 2 tablespoons


Make 1″X 2″ rectangles of the phyllo sheets.
Make a stack of about 8 rectangles by brushing each sheet with butter
Put a spoonful of gajar halwa in the center and roll into any shape you desire
Put the assembled baklavas in a greased tray and bake at 325-350 F for 30 mins
Make a thick sugar syrup by combining the honey, sugar, cardamom, saffron and water.
When the syrup is done, add the rose water.
Pour the syrup over the baked baklavas or dip each of them in syrup and serve.
